1.be known for 因……众所周知 ,因……而著名
be known for ＝be famous for.
Eg:Vancouver,whistler ski resort is know for it is the 2010 winter Olympics host field site.

⑴be known as 作为……而出名。后接表示职位名称和主语身份的词语。
⑵be known for 因……而著名＝be famous for,后接表原因的词。
